In 2018, a 62-year-old motorcyclist in Argentina died after being dragged 40km (25 miles) by a truck on National Road 14 between Gobernador Virasoro and San José. The victim, a municipal worker, got caught in the truck’s rear underride guards. The truck driver, a 41-year-old Brazilian from Multi Armazens, was arrested but unaware of the earlier collision. Police found a mangled motorcycle but no body until border officers stopped the truck 40 minutes later, spotting the victim hanging from it.
Being dragged by a vehicle causes severe injuries—abrasions strip skin and muscle, exposing bones. Broken bones, dislocated joints, organ damage, and head trauma often prove fatal.
